Umpires

Greetings Players, Coaches, Fans and Umpires,

 

Welcome to the 2012 softball season. This will be the first year that I will be UIC (Umpire-In-Chief), and many of you likely know me already, or have seen me at the park. For those of you who don’t know me, I have been at the park umpiring for the past 18 years.

 

Our umpire situation for the coming 2012 season is not in the best shape at this moment. There are several older umpires which are starting college, and will be unavailable during the first part of the season, and some that may not return. We do have some younger umpires that are on the way up, so game coverage should not suffer during the season, but I would ask that all coaches and fans take this into consideration before sending any complaints about the umpires. We are all human, and all prone to error. Please do not take it out on the umpires during the game. Please send any issues concerning the umpires directly to me as soon as possible.

 

We will be having our umpires clinic on March 10 and 11. Anyone wanting to try umpiring should contact myself or any executive member for information.

 

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the umpires, please feel free to contact me by phone or email. I will not be able to answer the phone during the day, but I will get back to any messages that are left as soon as possible. Email will likely be the best way to get a hold of me.

Umpires Clinic for Umpires March 10 & 11

Ladner will be hosting the District 15 umpires clinic March 10-11 for all Level 1 and 2 umpires.

All clinics will take place at Neilson Grove Elementary, 5500 Admiral Blvd, Ladner, BC

Saturday, March 10th  

Registration will commence at 8:30 AM

 LEVEL 1 & 2     9:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Minor Refresher   9:00 AM to 3:00 PM   (Saturday Only)

 Sunday, March 11th

 LEVEL 1 & 2     9:00 AM to  3:00 PM
