In July of 2009, Senior Sunfire had an unbelievable, incomparable experience at the World Games in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. We had the unique privilege of playing as the team representing Canada, playing against the National teams from Chinese Taipei, Korea, Russia and Singapore and the University Champions from Japan. We were thrilled with our two wins against Russia and Singapore and proud of our hard-fought losses to the three teams that took home medals. The Games were athletically, socially and culturally some of the best days of our lives.
Wearing a Team Canada uniform was a thrill beyond compare. The Games featured 31 sports from 105 nations, with 4800 athletes participating. The Games were a huge, world class event that we will never forget. 45,000 screaming, crazy sports fans at opening ceremonies was pretty incredible.
Many heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us on our way to Kaohsiung and all those that were rooting for us as we did our best to represent Canada.
