Equipment

Welcome to the 2013 North Delta Softball Season. All equipment is the sole responsibility of the coach. As a coach, you have many responsibilities. One of them is the equipment you sign out. Responsibilities for the care of equipment covers the following:

  • That appropriate and sufficient equipment is available for your team.
  • That the equipment meets all rules and regulations.
  • That equipment is suitable for your team in size and fit.
  • That your players know how to use the equipment safely.
  • Bats, not to be used as hammers
  • Balls, to be retrieved from yards, ditches, etc.

It is your responsibility after each game and practice to see that all equipment is replaced in your bag. On some occasions, pitching rubbers and home plates are still left on the field and disappear. A good idea is to delegate an assistant coach or parent to take on the responsibility of the care of this equipment. The cost of a fully equipped bag is over $1,250.00, so it is important that you take care of the equipment issued to you. This year I will try and provide coaches bats so the game bats at the younger ages are not used for hitting fly balls etc.

UNIFORMS

LTP and Mini Mite keep their tops.  It is very important that the players (and their parents) understand the proper washing instructions for these uniforms.  Fit your team the best you can, by size, not jersey number. Please have your players try uniforms as soon as you get your team equipment. Please contact me as soon as possible if you require equipment revisions. Do not leave it to the week before the season starts. Please keep a list of your players and their uniform number and ensure you have all of your uniforms prior to returning your equipment. The equipment room is located at the field house at North Delta Park

UNIFORM /EQUIPMENT DISTRIBUTION DATES

Time and dates will be set up after the draft for equipment pick up.

EQUIPMENT AND UNIFORM REPAIRS

Please contact me if there is anything you need in the way of exchange or repairs.

EQUIPMENT AND UNIFORM RETURNS

As a Coach you must make every effort to get the uniforms returned on time. All uniforms must be clean and complete. All parents are to be made aware of this. Uniforms will not be accepted dirty or incomplete. Please ensure that you have collected all uniforms before returning your equipment. You should explain to your parents that if their uniforms are not returned, their uniform deposit cheque will be cashed. Uniforms in need of repairs must be placed in a bag with a tag stating the repairs required at the top of the tote. All uniforms to be neatly piled in the tote from 1 to 16 with numbers facing up. Please empty all dirt and garbage from your equipment bag before you return it. Take a few minutes to ensure that your equipment bag is complete before you bring it in. If equipment repairs are required, please make a note or bring it to my attention. All equipment and uniforms must be returned A.S.A.P., unless attending Provincials. Your coordinator will advise you of a time for equipment returns.

EQUIPMENT RETURNS

Your coordinator will advise you of times for equipment returns, or please contact Sam Agawa to set up a drop off time.
